Dr. Collin Roesler is an oceanographer and an associate professor in the Department of Earth and Oceanographic Science at Bowdoin College. At this summer’s annual meeting she will speak on some of her research on Harmful Algal Blooms in Harpswell Sound. Her research foci are bio-optical modeling of phytoplankton biomass and ecophysiology, optical properties of seawater and sea ice, and ocean observing systems. Over the past twenty years, she has spent over 300 days at sea on more than 35 research cruises (over 90 days on Antarctic icebreakers) and about 40 days at Sea Ice Field research stations in the Arctic. She is a dynamic researcher and teacher, and we look forward to hearing her talk.
