Gallows Island consists of just over 1 acre of upland situated just offshore of the northwesterly side of Birch Island. It is completely wooded with mildly steep shores. The northerly side of the island is on deep water while the remaining sides front on tidal waters with clam flats, eel grass beds, and a salt marsh. The island is adjacent to the Birch Island North Easement and complements its natural, scenic and habitat values.
