Hackett Land Preserve

Description
3 acres of open fields and 36 acres of mixed hardwoods and softwoods in historic Harpswell Center between the historic Tarr-Hackett House, the Littlefield Road and the Lookout Point Road. Nearby are the historic 1757 Town House, the 1842 Elijah Kellogg Church and Parsonage, and the 1876 Centennial Hall. The Hackett Land was previously under a conservation easement for the purpose of providing historically important open space near historic landmark structures, providing valuable wildlife habitat, and preserving the scenic and natural character of a forest in the village of Harpswell Center. Its conversion into a preserve permits the creation of a public trail system on the land.
